Common Entrance Examination for admission into Polytechnics (CEEP-2011) Results
Thursday, 19 May 2011: A very high 82.79 per cent of students cleared the CEEP-2011 held for admissions into Polytechnic institutes in the State.

Minister for Higher Education, Damodara Rajanarasimha, who released the results said that 1,84,932 students out of total 2,19,099 who appeared have qualified for admissions.

Of them, 1,63,932 were boys and the remaining 55,961 were girls. Girls fared better than boys with a pass percentage of 89.10 while boys registered 82.79 per cent.

He said that the web-based counselling for polytechnic admissions will commence in the second week of June.

Alameluvari Anirudh of East Godavari bagged the State first rank securing 116 marks out of 120 while Sravya Puvvalla of Khammam secured the second rank by scoring 115 marks.

Students of West Godavari took six ranks in the top 10 while students from East Godavari bagged two ranks in the top 10.

About 63,500 seats are available in 230 polytechnic colleges in the State out of which 23,995 seats are available in 113 government colleges.

Private aided polytechnics have 1,135 seats and 56 private unaided colleges have 26,200.

Apart from this, 57 private engineering colleges offer 12,180 seats in the second shifts.

Two polytechnic colleges at Jogipet in Medak and Atmakur in Nellore districts have started from this year with a total intake of 360 seats while seven private colleges with an intake of 2,100 seats have submitted applications and are awaiting approval from the AICTE. If they get permission the intake will increase by 2,460 seats.
