Inter exams: no entry for latecomers

19.58 lakh candidates appearing for the exams this year

Hyderabad: Students appearing for Intermediate examinations starting Mach 2 will not be allowed in the examination hall if they report 15 minutes late from the scheduled time of 8 a.m.
The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Secretary, M. Subrahmanyam, said that candidates should report 15 minutes in advance at the examination hall.

There might be some discrepancies in hall-tickets as the information was collected online, and students should verify before the examination and get details corrected.

If brought to the notice of invigilators, the discrepancies can also be checked online.

He said the responsibility of verifying the correctness of OMR bar coded sheet also lies with the student and pinning the wrong bar coded sheet will lead to wrong results.

Mr. Subrahmanyam asked students to be careful with regard to English paper as one set of paper was being prepared for the failed candidates with the old syllabus and another one for the fresh candidates.

They should check the paper carefully before writing the exam.

He said students should also be careful with the school names as several schools have similar names. “Its better they visit the exam centre a day before,” he said.

Additional buses
The BIE secretary told a press conference that nearly a lakh of additional candidates will be taking the Intermediate examinations this year taking the total candidates to 19.58 lakhs.

Arrangements have been made in all aspects. Time-table has been given to APSRTC authorities to ensure additional services during the exam time.

The valuation of all papers will start on March 14 while Sanskrit valuation will start on March 8 even as the exams are held.

He said results will be given in the last week of April. However, the final results after the supplementary exams will be given in the first week of June since they were linked to EAMCET results.
